The technical session “Structural Integrity in Civil Structures” focuses on approaches that ensure the strength, safety, and reliability of buildings and infrastructure throughout their service life. Contributions addressing damage assessment, failure prevention, and maintaining structural integrity under real-world conditions are especially encouraged. Studies on structural behaviour under different loads, e.g., waves, earthquakes, impact loads, etc., as well as in-service and extreme exposure conditions, e.g., seawater environment, extreme climatic variations, etc., are also invited.

Aircraft structures in service are subjected to repeated or fatigue loads, thermal variations, and environmental degradation, which results in reduction of stiffness and strength over the time. To extend an aircraft’s operational life beyond its original design limits, Service Life Extension Programs (SLEP) are undertaken to assess and reinforce critical airframe components to maintain safety and airworthiness thereby extending their operational life.
This session focuses on topics on testing methodologies and fatigue performance evaluation required for life extension of aero structures such as Damage tolerance and residual strength evaluation , Repair technologies, Non-destructive testing and in flight strain monitoring techniques for service load determination required for fatigue life evaluation.
